i was speeding went from 5th to 4th on really high RPM's . pull over and motor no longer turns on. no hole on my block. there is still oil in it, i checked out my spark plugs and one of them is crushed ?
Can any one here, who has had their engine rebuilt, give me an idea how much it cost total ?

motor is probably usless. that could cause major damage to the head and block... if you remember the pics from this thread.. i guess the only way to find out is pull the motor.. you may find it easier to just get a new engine tho..?

just change your pistons with oem.... fully build your head with aftermarket valves and springs and next time you miss shift you wouldn't have that problem!!!!!! rebuilding your head will make it 0miles instead of buying another k20 not knowing the condition the motor is in... you will spend like 1000 but hey!!!! its worth the money because your sleeves look fine so just
Hey one quetion. Did you find any pieces of metal anywhere in your engine? If yes where? And do you had a picture of the bottum of the head the part that sits on the block? I would to see the damage to estimate mine.
Thanks in advance for the help

as long as the engine didn't overheat when it blew... im sure their shouldn't be any warp and should be able to rebuild.. maybe not oem but at least bigger pistons and head work theres no point in throwing away an engine that can be restored to buy another engine... you just never know what condition the other one is and at least with a fully built engine youll know what its about!!!! why spend 1200 on a working k engine when you can put that toward yours and make it 0 miles!!!!
True. But I wanted it done quick and it was going to cost me more to fix it. So I decided to get a new engine. Plus once my engine was out I saw piecess of aluminum in my intake manifold! I was like WTF! Do you wat that could be? I ask the guy who's doing the transplant what that could be. He told it looked like it was my pistons. Cause along with the pieces was wat looked like a pistion ring.
