Default gas tank/ fuel pump help

okay so i put a walboro 255 in the tank, 10 gauge wire to the relay, new chassis ground near tank with 10 gauge wire.

it starts and runs, but runs like its on 3cyls, or as if the pump is picking up air (most have noticed this when installing this pump and you go below 1/4 tank)

its got 3/4 tank gas...

now the wierd part is...

when i try to fill it with gas, it only takes about 30 cents and then clicks off, refuses to drain into tank even when you push the little cirle metal gas keep thing in. i would expect this to be an issue with the vents on either side of the filler hole, but from under the car its a clear view of the hose, which is perfectly in place...

would the "not filling" and the "running on 3cyls" problems go together? i have no clue.

bump this thing is killing me...

the only other thing i can think of... stupid me decided to use zip ties to further hold the fuel pump in (unncessary mabye, i was just playing it safe, now has a worm clamp on it)

but when i dropped the tank the 2nd time, the zip ties are gone... i can only imagine that they dissolved into the tank, mabye clogging the injectors???

I had a similar problem,I too have a 255 walbro pump,my car would take $3-5 gas and then over flow.I switched to a new tank.cleaned all the lines and it's running great now,I feel your pain I spent 16 hours under my car in 2 days to drop the tank twice by myself and figure out what was wrong, best of luck man.

hah yea and the worst is testing, "mabye its cause i only have half tank" and filling it up just to have it run like crap again, let it sit for 2 hrs slowly draining gas and putting it into 5 gal buckets! feel ya though ive dropped the tank 4 times now, im pretty much pro at it lol

cars running fine had some loose injector wires i thiiink, not really sure why it decided to run right again, still the same vent issue though, think its cause i jacked it up on the gas tank a few times???

you jacked the car up on the gas tank!?

if it dented the tank then yes that could definitely affect the pumps ability to pick up fuel.
