Default 97 accord 4 vtech rev problems

Ok I would search if I knew the correct way to describe the problem. When car is sitting at idol it will drop rpms and catch itself or sometimes shut off. when driving the auto car will again drop Rpms like the vss is bad. But if the vss was bad would it still do the same at idle?

Have you attempted to clean the throttle body and IACV? Do you have any exhaust leaks

There is no exhaust leak. I do not believe the iacv would have anything to do with what seems to be a loss of spark or fuel. For split period of time. The car will not stay running for an extremely long time. And if it stalls/shuts itself off it will not start for a little. Any other ideas I appreciate the idea and if someone could confirm this is most likely the problem then ill give it a shot but it just doesn't make sense.

Any help is appreciated.
Thank you

♠ Fuel Supply - Clogged Fuel filter/pinched fuel line or Bad Fuel Pressure Regulator.
♠ EGR System - Clogged exhaust gas recirculation system
♠ IACV - Dirty intake air control valve

Is your check engine light on?

Thank you.. as stupid as it sounds I really want thinking at all about the fuel filter..

I will replace it tomorrow and let you know if you were right. Thanks again.

And no no check engine the whole time.

That is only one of the things it could be.

Another thing it could be is the PGM-FI main relay. They are known for cold solders or cracked solder joints that cause intermittent stall & no start issues. If it shorts out it will cut power to the fuel pump. When you have these no start periods. Have you ever noticed if the fuel pump still primes when you try to start the car? If you can't hear the pump prime then it is more than likely a main relay issue or a fuel pump issue.
