Default quick brake questions.

I'm looking at getting these pads for my 95 EG2.

http://passwordjdm.com/Hawk-Ceramic-...3788C1442.aspx

Does this come with both front? or just one pair?

also, at the bottom, it says "all brake pads have to be bedded-in with the rotors (new or used) that they will be used against."

What is bedding in? I will be getting new OEM rotors fyi. thanks

the ones in the link above are for just the fronts

pad manufacturers have "break-in" procedures when installing/replacing new pads;

it ensures maximum life & performance from the pads & rotors.

it requires the car to make several stops, going at different mph

(such as several stops going from 40-0 & 60-0 without completely stopping);

which generates heat on the rotor.

the new pad has a thin layer of material which is transfered as film onto the rotor.

this layer ensures your pads wear evenly & work correctly

the ideal situation is new/resurfaced rotors on new pads

but on new pads/used rotors, it'll take much longer to "break-in" (& bed-in) your pads.

Video: How to Bed-in Brake Pads and Rotors
(quite lengthy @ 25 min, but very informative!):

Tire Rack Brake Pad and Rotor Bed-in Article

Taken from www.tirerack.com, "HAWK PADS, After installing new pads make 6 to 10 stops from approximately 35 mph with moderate pressure.

Make an additional two to three hard stops from approximately 40 to 45 mph.

Do not allow the vehicle to come to a complete stop.

When completed with this process, park the vehicle and allow the brakes to cool completely before driving on them again.

Do not engage the parking brake until after this cooling process is compete.

NOTE: Hawk racing pads (Blue, Black, HT-10, HT-12)

may require a different bed-in procedure."
