1st gen CRX with B16
As some of you are already aware of, my 89 CRX got wrecked last wednesday. I have been weighing out the actions I could take, and near the top of the list is getting a first gen CRX Si and doing a B16 swap. I already did a search for this, and I've been to http://www.hasport.com. Besides the outrageous price of the engine mounts, and the requirement of custom axles,I was curious: how difficult is this swap? I realize that the B16 is quite a bit larger than the stock engine, and that the bay is quite cramped. However, I think that this swap would be cheap provided I can find a well priced Si. I realize that the other models aren't fuel injected, which would probably be a wiring nightmare. Would this be a really good swap??
How many of you have this swap or a similar swap? I think that due to the lightweight and cost of this chasis, that it would be a great swap. Any websites on this? Comments? Thanks!

do it if u want to man i recomend it im gonna put a LSvtec into my 86 crx si one day after my hatch is done wiring isnt that bad u have to add a few wires do to the fact that there arent as many sensors and wut not but its not a nightmare if u get a si.....ull need to run some extra wires but think about it its so worth it...and there isnt like no room at all in the engine bay good luck
Yeah, it would be a total sleeper though, hey! I would strip it completely, make the darn thing like 1700 lbs. I think the cost would nearly even out due to the cheap chassis. I will also do this over the course of a year or so. I'm starting to lean more and more towards this...
I had B20vtec in my old '87 Si hb. Theres more than enough room for a B series in those engine bays. They are very light especially when gutted and with a B series the power feels unreal. Theyre cool cars to do swaps in but ive noticed its getting more common these days. There isnt as many as in the newer genertaions of course but people are starting to look back to the 84-87 civc/crx's and seeing the potential. Theyre awesome cars.
