Pretty sure you'll want something close to stock. I found on my rear disc SI that with a real high performance pad at the rear the pad can't get warm enough to be used effectively. This caused my fronts to overheat. Without a proprtioning valve it would be even worse. I use the performance friction pads from parts store. Get a stock or one step up from a local source with a lifetime warranty.
cool thanks
I seem to remember from back in the day that there was only one company that would any type of high performance shoe for rear drum brakes
but you had to send them some brake shoes to have the better ones installed
if i could only remember what company that was

Porterfield in OC makes his own shoes.
Hawk probably makes shoes, maybe Raybestos as well?
Most guys with drum brakes who "track only" their cars use stock type shoes in the rear.
Good Luck.

I said you could dial in rear weight, not rear brake bias......
Moving the coil over perch "up", or closer to the top of the car will add weight to that corner of the car. It will also take some weight off of the corner that is diagonally across from the one you have moved. Good Luck.

I raced an ITC / H5 Civic hatch for several years. I ran parts store stock rear brake shoes and never had a problem. You don't want the rears locking up as you can flat spot the inside tire very easily in these cars (if it's not completely off the ground - aka pissing dog style).
In ITA - can't you upgrade to rear discs b/c the 90-91 CRX Si had them from the factory?
Corner weighing the car will help - you lower / raise the ride height (with driver in the car and your set fuel level [make sure you make race weight]) to move the weight of the car around. Raise one corner and it effectively tilts the weight to the other 3 corners. Read your rules about relocating items - such as the battery / ballast, etc. If you run a cool suit or a fire system you can mount it in the hatch. You can be creative adjusting weight around even in a stock sedan type class.
