First car - [88 Polar White Hatch inside]
So I finally bought my first car this morning. An 1988 Honda Civic Hatchback DX (manual) in Polar White.
It was being sold by the original owner, has 179500kms, always been serviced at the dealer, repainted 3 years ago, rustproofed constantly, and a lot of parts have been replaced. Only a few small problems with it : Tires are old (crappy Sears tires) and there a little spot of rust underneath that will need to be patched, for some reason I have only 3 of the stock rims, the fourth one is different and tonight, while driving, the fogs just stopped working so I'll have to check it out.
I haven't taken a lot of pics since I wanted to drive it and it was too dark outside when I arrived back home lol.

For now I just removed the crappy hubcaps, the Honda emblems on the rear mudflaps and the like 5 deer whistles that were on it (wtf ?). When the weather will be warmer I want to give it a coat of wax and try to clean the engine bay a bit.
Plans :
- Rota J-Mags (15x7) wrapped in Yokohama S. Drive (195/50-15 ?)
- Skunk2 Lowering springs (the 1.5"-1.75" ones)
And maybe a few other goodies
In the long run I definitely want to do a B16 swap but that's not for now.

looks just like my hatch when i got it. stay away from s2 lowering springs, i had a set, the stance was horrible and the front was higher, get some decent coilovers... GL
Any suggestions for suspension ? Don't need anything too fancy, has to be reliable (no cut springs) and it's just to lower the car a bit.
if you can... get eibach sleeved coilovers.
what you want to do is, get the better/best stuff first, that way you're not having to spend money later on replacing it.
any wheel that's 15x7 (or 15x7.5), and weighs under 13lbs per wheel is a good choice. but...
ultimately, leave it stock for as long as you can tolerate it. I'd put the hubcaps BACK on, cause steelies make cars look like piles of crap.

And too late for the hubcaps, they were all broken anyway.
dam good find.... thats whats up u got atot of posts for just gettin ur first car... u can allways go with ground controls with koni yellows....
conrats man, got your first car just like me last month, but you got one with plastic bumpers, dont get rid of them because they give it a nice style when modifyed, also if you end up in a accident you won't have to pay $500 to get them repainted but for suggestions, keep the body mostly stock, but that D15 has to go, try the B16A, its cheap, affordable, and the easiest to swap, but I have some pics to show you some good stockish ideas

little suggestion as well, get some OEM honda wheels, or JDM sets
here's what i'm trying for with my crx

x2...this is good advice...make sure if yore gettin coilovers or springs, that you plan on replacing the shocks soon after if not at the same time. good job gettin a car from the original owner
Made some space for it in the garage :

And Some interior shots :

My random fourth rim :

I also found what was the problem with the fogs :

The plug just melted, I would fix it but I can't find any spare wire right now.
Also, do any of you guys know how to remove stickers from windows ? Previous owner had a couple on the rear window and I dont' really want Ski Resort stickers on my ride. Thing is, I tried taking them off witha plastic scraper but it didn't do anything.

use a hair dryer, peel of sticker, then use some acetone, or Goof Off to get the rest of the adhesive off.
or use a metal window scraper, if it's on the out side.

So I went to the junkyard today, I wanted a dash clock... Turns out they don't have any 4th gens because they are too old.... Damn, that's the only "close" junkyard there is and most of the people who work there are complete idiots (went there in the fall, bought a seat for my Gran Turismo cockpit. Took the guy 20 minutes to remove it and finally when I took it out of the trunk in my garage it was missing a few brackets and bolts ? Wtf seriously ? Can't even remove a seat ?)

Update :
Saturday night I went and snapped a few pics with my friend's CVPI :

It's a crappy picture, I know....I would post more but at the time I didn't realize it was like -25C outside so I was freezing my *** off trying to take pictures as fast as I could with a Point-N-shoot. Basically that's one of the few that aren't blurry as hell.
Also when I went in the garage this morning, my driver's side front tire was flat.... I filled it with air again and it seems to be holding it. I'll check back tomorrow morning. This could kickstart the plan to buy new wheels/tires...

Thanks.
Yeah I'm pretty lucky I found one in that condition in Canada lol
I think I probably paid too much for it but in the end I won't have to pay for bodywork so.
