hello just curious how much the swap would cost for my EK without the motor. So all the parts that are need, trying to plan it all out right now.

i paid right around 2500 for a b18c1 with install in my EG

 

Labour for the K swap is Much more intense shop will probably bill you 25 hours @ say $ 50 = $ 1250 in labour

then add alot of extra parts plus motor

all in all a shop built k20 is in the $ 6k -10k now a days
( take into account there is alot of options for the swap in a EK , with subframe swap, axels etc )

also depends if its a junk yard k20a3 or a a2 or type r , etc

A shop swap with a say B18c is $ 3k-4k
labour for this swap is more like 6-10 hours so say $ 500

 

Sheesh...cheap labor, don't ya think?

 

^^ i think so, 1250 is around what they charge to pull and swap a engine.
k series 6k and up could be less if you get deals on all the parts.

b16b i think is approching 5k alone. b18c5, guy is asking 2500 for a long block over here. but they can be had for a lot less.

 

ya those labour prices is for out of no name no warranty garage .

Rates are more in the $ 70-90 an hour, you are right the $ 50 is cheap.

 

That's a damn good deal. How did you come across that one?
