Default still need premium?

I recently got a 93 'lude SI non-VTEC
says to run premium, but I am sure the compression
has dropped on the motor cause it has 200k on it.
So still need to run premium?
If so, is it more of a timing than a compression thing?
Thanks!

do you REALLY think saving 2 dollars a tank is going to make or break you?

i'd run 93 octane in any car i drove regardless if it told me to or not.
why cheap out on something that basically saves you no money.

if its not an issue for you, run the gas you desire.

but for 20 cents a gallon extra.. thats one very VERY cheap piece of mind to have IMO.

Stick to premium, thats what the engine is designed
to run on. Your likely to get engine knock on a lower
octane fuel & poor performance.
