Upper control arms
I need to replace my upper ball joint and will need to remove the upper control arm, most likely replacing the whole unit.
I have a 91 civic STD.
Question is, how do you remove the bar going across the upper control arm? Its the one going across the fender underneath. I've tried PB blaser and heat, but can't get in there to get a pry bar on it.
I would guess it might be rusted in there, but thought someone might have a technique.
I could take the whole shock absorber off, but don't want to do that.

your best bet would be to take the two nut off the top of that bar that are located in the engine compartment near were the shock is and then take the botttom fork off the shock also need to undo the brake line form just the shock and slid the hole unit down around the shock and take it out

Do you mean to just remove the pinch bolt at the bottom of the fork connecting to the lower control arm (besides the two top nuts under the hood)?
