After Market Front Hub?
Couple Questions,
I am looking to do get a ZC transmission here in a month or so and want to get all my ducks in a row before doing the swap. I currently have a std model, meaning if have the smaller hubs and need to upgrade to the Si,ex,dx hubs for the integra axles.
Is there any aftermarket hubs (aside from the dealer ($180)) for the 88-91 civics? I read somewhere that 92-00 civic hubs are interchangeable, but I wasn't really sure.
Number two, how hard would it be to get just the hub out at the junkyard? The junkyard charges $31 for the hub and spindle and only 15 for the hub. Any information it would be helpful.
Thanks

I am not 1000% sure about #1, My thought is that there will be minor suspension geometry changes you won't be able to correct without adjustable components if you go with the 92 + gear. The problem is that toe is the only really adjustable dimensions on the EF, so if the other hubs aren't the right camber or caster, then you are out of luck. Most people interested in driving fast prefer a little negative camber, but I have no idea what you will get with 92+ gear. Toe is a bigger worry, but that can be adjusted out for the most part.
#2, getting the parts at the junkyard is REALLY easy, provided you have the right tools. You will need a pitman arm puller for the ball joint, and a 32mm socket and major breaker bar for the axle nut. Just don't forget to unstake the axle nut before hitting it with the breaker bar, otherwise you will be in for a long afternoon. You may also bring some vice grips to make getting the jesus pin out of the ball joint castle nut easier. The axle nut will be, by far, the hardest part.
The list of tools I would bring would be:
32mm socket
6" extension
breaker bar
pitman arm puller tool
10,12,14,17,19mm sockets
half inch drive ratchet
