street clutch kit for 450whp
need some suggestions .. im looking for a street clutch that will be easy to DD because i do a lot of stop and go traffic (traffic) .... that can also handle about 450whp (gt30r at 18psi), and occasional, maybe once a month trip to the drag strip ( tires will vary from Drag radials to 24" slicks ) ... ..i rather save as much money as possible but im willing to pay more if neccessary for quality vs. changing a clutch every year lol ... whats a good choice for me ?
competition clutch stage 5. very smooth for everyday use and can take more than you are gonna throw at it. i've got in in my car, used it in previous cars, and just about everyone i know with a turbo honda is running one with no complaints.
r u guys running the competition stage 5 sprung or unsprung ? ...
can I get away with the pressure plate that is in that kit or do I have to ask for the xtreme ?
I have a left over 8lb flywheel from an NA setup , can I reuse it or should I go for a heavier one ?
thanks !!

Don't go with Competition Clutch!!!!!! Iam on my 3rd stg5 from them and it seems as though they keep sending me one bad pressure plate after another.....
If I were you, I'd go with a Clutch Masters...

the standard plate that comes with the kit should be fine. x plate feels comfortbale too though. ive made 420 ftlbs on a standard plate.
i do agree on the comp stage 5 clutch sprung.. I have one.. and i love it as well.. I have not used any other clutch other than the comp clutches.. It might be that i live about 15 mins away from there man headquarters.. lol
These CC stage 5 4 puck's......... What's the wear rate like on them? compaired to OEM wear rates?
Also are they slipable? Or are they on/off clutches?

the stage 5 comp will handle 450 ftlbs with the standard pressure plate. i just picked up a stage 5 sprung hub for my DD. Everyone i know has good luk with them. Ive never run one but im not at all worried about it. I was running a ebay stage 4 lol it worked well for 25k miles but now it wont hold a 3rd or 2nd gear bunout so.
The stage 4 comp will also handle 450whp. its rated to 375ftlbs which is about 500-575whp depending on turbo

looks like CC stage 5 got the most votes ... is there a pretty big difference between the sprung and unsprung feeling ? ... what about the standard plate vs xtreme plate ? .. thanks for the suggestions guys !
