But it's Mooooogggggen! The only issue I see with it is that it does not have an MAF sensor port. I really want it also, just have to wait for that RPh salary.

Does this particular system still use the lower piping from the OEM box? Or does it come with its own replacement?

it comes with its own replacement piping that has a larger intake opening that goes right behind the front bumper, although that part in only fibreglass and not carbon, they also provide two filter elements, and the OEm element also fits.

Thanks for the information. Is the J's racing intake similar and do you believe that either of these will produce any more power than one of the many SRI? I'm still up in the air about changing intakes. I currently have a K&N drop in filter and when my car was dynoed, the shop stated that they had only noticed a few HP difference with OEM compared to SRI's.

Thanks,

Just go without it already.

It will save you about two pounds and give you better traction for the hole shot.

Just curious - are you in the US or overseas? If you have a USDM Si then I have a suggestion.

I believe that IM is the RRC that comes with the JDM Type R. I bought it for my Si from
Hmotorsonline for $370.00 along with the JDM IM cover. It's all OEM, so the fitment is great.

i-Vtec, I had to buy the IM cover seperately. It was another $200.00.

Not to thread jack, but does the T1R carbon box have an MAF port?

If Mugen does decide to make one, then I'll wait for it.

If not, then we all will have to find an alternative (other than Gruppe-M).

Not in the box top - it comes with a metal tube with a place to mount your sensor. I ran this on my wife's 08 FA5 Si for about a year before going to the HPS induction hose and smoothed out factory box.

Can you describe the smoothed out intake box and what you did to modify the OEM system?
Did you just improve on the OEM system and did it make a difference. Also, sorry I didn't mention that the cost of the IM cover was seperate from the IM itself.

If you look at the inside of your factory airbox you will notice alot of plastic ribs connected to the sides. You clip those out and then use either a dremmel or sanding block to smooth the inside of the box out as much as possible - do this to the top & bottom. Then you can either remove the resonator that is located behind the front bumper or cut it open to make a makeshift scoop. I used the scoop that came with my T1R system. The scoop with the smoothed out box and the HPS induction hose perform really welll and I lost ALL of the surging or hesitation issues I had without using the factory box top with the MAF Vanes.
