Hellow honda-techers,
I have an issue with my accord that I have not been able to figure out. If the car is cold, I start it and it revs fine for a block or so, once it gets warm it will not rev past 4500rpm. Does any one have experienced and fixed something like this? Please help!

What have I done:
Full tune up: Fuel filter, yes I did!, spark plugs and wires, distributor cap and rotor, PCV valve.

Check Engine Light?
I was getting 67 (cat), 71 (misfire), 72 (misfire) but after the tune-up today, I cleared them and have not came back. No other lights though.

Theories:

1) It is the distributor
2) It is the ECU

Theory challenge:

This is my first accord so I do not have any spare parts to play around. Tried to change the ECU but a Civic one wont work (one plug has a little difference).
Also, opened up the distributor but nothing works from a civic one

how does it run up to 4500?
have you checked egr to see if plunger still moves?

 

try cleaning up the VTEC solenoid screen

Update:
The car is misfiring again, sometimes, no code yet. It happens only when I start it and goes away quickly. I smell the unburned gas, can someone sell me a damm distributor so I can try that?
