2000 Civic gsr - Vibrates after new clutch and flywheel resurface
2000 civic GSR Turbo
type r transmisson
Car has drivin perfectly for 25,000 miles
I had a stg 3 6 puck clutch
took it out cause it was badfor street driving
Put a stg1 clutch in and had the flywheel resurfaced
at a local napa. Clutch operates perfectly Very happy with it
but instanly after the install it vibrates under acceleration
almost like its not balnced??
I double checked the mounts there all tight and i also have
the polyurathane inserts
and i know its not clutch chattter because
it vibrates at very light acceleration aswell
really bad at 3k and seems noisey-ier on the freeway
Thanks guys for reading
Its realy drivin me nuts
I have a HD video camera i can take a video?

man it sonds like a bad axle or sumthing is lose look for a bad axle first puck clutch are hard on stock axles
I put new axles in at the same time
There the autozone life time warrantys? > they seemed ok but i didnt even think about the axles
Should i go get another set?
Can the half shaft cause this because i might of messsed it up?

what I mean by might of messed it up is
when i pullled the tranny off the first time i tried to
do it with out pulling off the halfshaft and
we were putting alot of pressure on it but they loook pretty beefy
could i of bent the halfshaft?

no i dowt you bent the shaft but i have sean thows axles vibrate thay are reman axles not new so yes it wood be a good idea to start ther
Ill start there that does make more sense then the flywheel/clutch
thought...
just blabbing but somtimes 3rd gear or 4th WOP It feels like the vibration is going to lift the car in a weird way.... dont know if the makes any sense?
thank you for your help im greatly consideering your info

well sume times the vibrations will go away at higher speeds i no it makes no sens but you have less torq on the axels at that point just trying to help

though i was never able to figure out my issue back in the day, detailed below, i have a feeling axles are your issue. poorly remanufactured inner joint...or outer, or possibly a physically bent axle. the cool thing is it was working well before the latest round of mods you did, so you can backtrack as needed.
a quick check to see if it is axle length issue, and binding, you could raise the car up to stock height (if you have coilovers) and see if whatever binding stops, and, subsequent vibrations on acceleration. but if the joints are beat or reman'd poorly that still would not resolve the issue.

but before my new clutch and axles the GSR was smoother than
the d-series....
I have stock suspension with old stock shocks
id say bad inner joint on one of the axels. does it get worse while accelerating? what happens when you are at crusing speed and put the car in neutral?
Up hills you can really notice the shaking. the steering wheel shakes much worse
and freeway entrances 4th gear 2k- 4k = shakes pretty good
4th gear 4k - 7k = less shaking but more noise, what i mean is the door pannels and dask shake ( a little im not talking crazy shaking .... like a ''Bass'' shaking
5th gear 2-7 k not as noticable
deffinately something is out of balance. i'd start with the axles. crazy shot in the dark, but your wheels ARE torqued on properly right?
Replaced axles today under warranty at autozone
Holly cow It fixed it YAY
