Icon2 92-95eg 4 door cheap build

im planning on getting an eg 4 door for my next project. iv done some reading and some work on a 91 hatch with a b16. i either wanna go vtec sohc or lsB18. both engines are going to cost 400 (ecu included) or 600 for E and T. so if i go ls im gonna be paying 600 right off the line. im not planning on spending more than 2500 for the whole package. (shell, engine, axles, harness, mounts etc.)

so now my question, should i shell out a little extra for the ls? or can i be as happy with a sohc? and does anyone have or know of any 4 doors for sale around PA MD or DE

LS. the additional torque is well worth it. Ive seen b18b powered hatches take b16 powered hatches, let alone a d16. I know you dont have a hatch, but same concept.

Im sure opinions will be different, but if it were me and I wanted something more 'fun' then I would go with a B series. Your not going to see much in a d series even with vtec unless you turbo it. 30 mpg is still obtainable with an LS, given the fact that it may be almost 100% highway.

Correct me if im Wrong. i had a 92 but never did work to it. to make a B fit (doesnt matter if its 20 or 18) i can get everything i need from a teg?
(engine and trans include all accessories)
1. 3 out of 4 mounts from teg (not top tranny)
2. axles
3. ecu from teg
4. linkage from teg
ONE EASY SWAP?
