My old school Bicron just took a dump after 10 years if use and I pulled it out to replace. It was installed by a shop back in 99` and it seems to have a wierd door trigger hook up. The door trigger(door contact plunger) is a one wire thicker green with blue stripe wire. I double check by pulling out the trigger and following the wire back to where it was tapped. It only gets a positive signal when the door is open and the key is in the ignition. it also blinks along with the door chime when tested with a probe with key in the ignition. Close the door and test light and door chime go out obviously. I noticed that the dome light does not come on either when the door is open, it only works when manually turned on. This never made sense since I guess that means you could set the alarm and open the door, and the alarm would go off once the key is put into the ignition. Do Del Sols have weird different wiring?

 

Problem solved! Door switch was not grounded tight with the fastening screw. Heads up also...drivers side wire is green/blue, and passenger side is green/red.
