So my civic with a gsr swap is acting up. Sometimes the gauges will go crazy and the radio will turn on and off. I once had the bright idea to turn it off in the middle of the street while this was happening and it wouldnt turn on again, luckily i was able to push start it(manual tranny). But it happened again and turned off on its own(i was doing like 40). When i push started it again it was idling at extremely low rpm and as soon as i took my foot off the gas it went dead again. My friend came and gave me a jump, didn't turn on at first so he hit the starter with a wrench and hammer and we tried again and what do u know, it started. I then changed the starter and its been only one day. Its been fine but does anyone if this was the cause for the problem? or could it be something else? Bad battery?Alternator? Wiring? Any input will help before i take it to get a diagnostics check done

 

I had something kind of similar happen in my gsr ek, ended up being a grounded wire, had to open the wire harness and track it down. Pain in the *** (I hate wiring with a passion) but never had the problem since.
