Default Asura Exhaust Review (Updated Sound)

So last weekend I finally got my Asura dual oval exhaust on. A few things; a lot of this review is subjective of course, so be your own judge as well. Also, unfortunately I don't have the extra money right now to get onto a real dyno, so I've tried to turn my *** into a dynojet. My only mod is the K&N FiPK for what it's worth. That being said, these are my thoughts:

Pricetag: $1299 shipped (Before tax if your a CA resident)

Looks/Quality - 9/10: To me this is what I think the car should look like in terms of the exhaust and how it flows with the car. The ovals are slightly larger, the oval lips are thinner, and it sits just a smidge higher to eliminate what I thought was a gap slightly too large between the exhaust and bumper. The quality of metal, and it's polish are phenomenal. It blings without excessively sticking out. The welding is second to none, icing on the cake.

Performance - ?/10 (9/10): The ? is because I can't give an entirely accurate answer, the 9 is my butt dyno opinion. You can feel it breathe better in the lower end, there's definitely an increase in pull, and there's an obvious increase in going to 4500. From 4500-7500 or so is when you definitely see an increase of power, getting into vtec from 4500 was noticeably quicker. Asura claims ~12-15hp dyno increase when tuned, and from the feel of my *** I would guesstimate I've gained 8/9 slapping it on and resetting my ecu. I can't see his claims of it tuned to be far from the truth, but I don't have any factual data to back that up. -1 point because... you can always get more!

Sound - Infinity/10: My whole quest to choose an exhaust started with what I wanted my car to sound like. After a whole lot of reading I came across this gem, found a video and matched exactly what I wanted. This was the factor for me, that personally justified the price tag, the nice gains are an added bonus. That being said, the only way I can explain it is the sound of a demonic hellbound I-4. But you be the judge.

Fitment 8.5/10: It goes on easy, and beautifully. He supplies all the gaskets and hardware that's needed with some really nice bolts. The only fitment issue for me was the mid hanger. It was possible for me to get the hanger on with the bushing, but to me and my roommate it was unsettling to sit snug on the under body. Whether there's any warrants to those concerns or not, I'm not sure. That being said; there's real no need for it anyway but I gotta give the truth.

Pictures/Video:
Unfortunately with conflicting schedules it's been impossible to get someone to get on the outside, and I got tired of waiting. The first video is of some revving, the second one is WOT through third gear.

Yea, when I put Asura's HFC on next week I'm gonna take care of it. Late nights in the shop and a 6 pack of Stone IPA tends to drain your motivations for small things like that haha

This is a 10x better audio clip I made, and I'm replacing the original post with this.

Sweet looking exhaust dude... The sound on my iPhone sucks but I'm sure it's nice! Only problem for me now is that all the research i've done shows minimal gains on almost all the exhaust tested except for the T1R... So from a money stand point, I might get the Tanabe Touring Medallion. Saves me about $400. Which will be used for springs since I got some rims off an s2ki member.

Either way you got a sweet looking exhaust! Dyno chart would be awesome. If only you had a before n after ! Enjoy homie!

Sounds sweet. I've browsed the other Asura threads and still can't find a straight answer. What's the diameter of the piping?

It's only first gear, but you get the idea. I'm trying to get someone to do a first through third pull video for me :x
