Default Front <-> Rear Speaker Outputs Reversed? Important?

Hey guys,

I have a feeling that the shop that installed my audio system accidentally wired my front speaker preamp outputs to my amp and then to my rear speakers and vice versa for my front speakers. I only know because when I put my fader +9 up front, the rear speakers are on and when it is -9 to the rear, the front speakers are on. The left-right balance seems to be wired correctly. This isn't important, is it? Don't music CDs only have 2-channels? or are there 4 channels and is front - rear staging important?

Thanks,
Ben

this won't be a problem, just goto your amp, pull out the two rcas that goto the front, pull out the ones that goto the back, and plug them into where you took the opposite one out.

Switcha-roo!

And no, if your keeping everything center, this makes no difference, but since most installers run the sub rca's off the rear, and you want your front speakers a little more on the + than the rears, this will screw up the signal to your sub.

Actually, a third set of RCAs has already been run to the rear of the car in anticipation of a sub install.

Thanks for the help!
