I dunno if they're any "tips" this is really easy you can take my word for it. Just simple tools and some common sense and you will have it installed straight unless the lip has horrible fitment (replicas sometimes).

 

bolt 1 side on then the other, i used Industrial strength adhesive glue along the bottom and inner lip where touches the bumper to keep it tight and no open gaps.
