so i was on the highway goin about 80 in 5th gear and out of no where my car loss power like i hit the pedal all the way down and it wouldnt accelerate
(like the car was dead) then i would let it go for a lil while then i would try again and it would start accelerating again ive never had this happen to me before wtf can this be my car starting to have alot of problems

 

This happened to me once. What type of car? what do you have installed? tech, auto-gauges, strobe lights, glow lights, interglows, cool lights, etc. just joking. but really? did you recently or install something new or already had something new?

 

only brakes and rotors lol and i did the thermostat recently. i also had trouble with my car shutting off on me while it was warming it up and not turning on till the next day so idk if thats related theres a a bunch of things happening right now

 

hello i am new to this site and was wandering about how this works i am lookingfor a body for my 1991 honda civic mine is so rusted its unreal i have the other stuff and i dont have a lot of money i am on ssi but i love my honda they r good gas and there small like me hit me up if anyone knows of one close to houston tx or knows how or where i can find one please mine i can hit my floor board just right and my foot will go right through i bought mine in pa a year ago and drove it to houston tx i just love it and i dont want to trade it in i want to keep it

 

check your grounds

 

i checked all the grounds and they looked good and i also made sure that g101 was good

 

It slowly de-cellearate... hummm... does it crank over but doesn't want to start when the car shuts off on you?

when it shuts off it cranks but doesnt turn over and i found out that it was not getting spark so that lead me to check g101 after i did that the next day it shut off on me so i let the car sit for 3 days.. since then its been almost a week and it hasnt shut off yet its so weird

 

Well no spark then huh... its probably your distributor. When your distributor has no spark your car goes weirdo on the acceleration pedal. That is what happened to me. I installed a auto-tachometer on my EG6 and it created grounding problems, making my car acceleration pedal go bazzerk, resulting in burning my Distributor. That is why I asked you if you had any recent installation. Well try that and see if it works.

when its not starting check to see if your tach moves while the engine is cranking...usually a good sign of distributor or more specifically ignitor failure...also if the tach is "jumping" a bit while driving (esp at higher rpms) it is also usually a indicator of impending ignitor failure

 

If you are not getting spark it is usually something in the distributor i.e. ignitor or coil, or in some cases the crank sensor
