Default Dissasembly/Refinishing of Tein Coilovers

Hey guys,

I've recently purchased a set of older Tein Type HA coilovers. I'm wondering if anyone has a DIY or knows how to take them apart and clean them up a bit. Also any hints on cleaning them? I'm thinkin of sanding down the bodies and painting them, taking a wire brush to the treads... etc.

Thanks

brake cleaner is your friend if you plan of taking them apart. when you put them back togeather fuchs oil from penski. make sure you measure the amount of oil you take out so you know how much to put back in. wire wheel the crap out of the threads and get some spray graphiet or how ever its spelt(what ever pencil lead is made of) to spray on the treads.

Are you talking about re-building them yourself? Or just cleaning the cosmetics?

mostly cosmetics, plus cleaning the threads so the height can be adjusted easily. also want to lube it up properly and make sure everything works properly before i put them in my car.
