Hey I recently purchased a 2000 Civic si and today i went to change my VSS and the one i bought and the one it has are different. I know theres 2 different brands but its not either I think the one that came out of the car is from a gsr or ls im not sure.

Can you tell me what car the sensor i have came from?
or if their compatible?


The new one is black on the left and the old one on the right.

 

it looks like the same mounting depth and everything. the aftermarket manufacturer must have changed it a little bit. should be fine i would think

 

The one on the left is an OBD2 VSS, they are 1 piece and plastic. The one on the right is an OBD1 unit, they are a two piece affair, with the bottom made out of metal. The plug fits the same and electronically they work the same.
