a-arms hitting fender on 90 accord ex
i own a 90 accord ex. i lowered the car with Lightspeed springs and i had to get a camber kit to ensure long tire life. ever since i did that, the a-arm on the right side is hitting everytime i hit a hard bump and i get a squishy sound from my axles. what can i do to cure those problems??

perhaps you can use a BFH (Big ******* Hammer to the unclued) and beat on where you see it hitting?????

if it is any bit like mine was, a BFH would be less than adaquate for the job. A RFHT (Really ******* Hot Torch) would be needed to cut a hole and actually let the a-arms poke out through the chassis........Meaaahh.....i chose to throw the camber kit out.
What camber kit and how much did you dial out? I hear anything past 1.5 and the UCA hits the chassis like you're getting. Chuck the camber kit, negative camber is your friend anyway. Set your toe conservatively, rotate every 3~5K and your tire wear should stay even enough.

I like the way this man thinks.
thats a good idea. but, how would i cure that squishy sound i get from the axles? is there anyway to cure that and will it harm my car anymore??

The squishy sound is probably also polyurethane bushings on the camber kit and it'll go away when you remove them. Dunreit has the Ingals (I think) camber kit it sounds like the front is being suspended by those long thing balloons they make twisty animals out of at the circus.
i had the same problem. there were 2 different settings depending on how low the car was lowered (1-1.5 in and 1.6-2.2 in). to get the geometry right it should've gone to the furthest setting (1.6-2.2) but it was hitting so we put it at the least camber correction(1-1.5). solved the problem partially. i was still out of spec but closer. then when the AGX's went in it raised the car an inch and now everthing is perfectly in spec. have you replaced the struts? that could help. and since you're not in a race car the negative camber isn't your friend ESPECIALLY if you're running wider wheels/tires than stock. honda dials in 1 degree negative camber on the front and .5 or 0 degrees in the rear. they do this for a reason. i had bfgoodrich euro t/a vr's on my accord before the camber kit. they were showing the wear bars after only a year. they were replaced less than 6 months later 'cause they wouldn't pass inspection. my buddy's z-rated tires on his t/a last longer than that. when the kit went in i noticed NO difference in handling. KEEP THE KIT and just try the other setting if it has one. if not, buy another one (ie progress group) $150 for the kit or $420+ every year for tires. hmmm don't see the choice.

wheee.. back in the dayzzzzz i just bent mah control arms cuz joo had no choice.
now that i have my 14" steelies back on and tires are like 14.00 per tire I just could give a **** about camber anymore.
the RFHT idea I had see done now that you mention it... it seemed kinda ghetto.

id id the same as mentioned, i kept getting cheap tires, i didn't care. then i finally got some wheels i liked, and i set out to get some decently expensive tires, heh, i got falken ZX 502's. I didn't want to ruin these, so i threw my camber kits back on, had it aligned, and it has hit the top of the strut tower for the past two years. Just get a BFH (big F hammer) and hit the strut tower where the upper arm hits.

so what style Ingalls kit you got? I assume you have the replacement A arm mounting things and not the ball joint...
how much of a drop do you have? how far off was your camber before? where's your camber now?

Correct, I have the replacement UCA mountings... however, I had to buy new UCAs since they were damaged so bad from teh Sprint camber kit... camber was -2.2, now -0.7
