Default Totalled my Car last Night! few question.

I totalled my 95 EX last night!

Looking to get 98-01, are all have the same problem with the tranny or just some? I'm very rusty when its comes to Stick.

Not too many selling 96-97 EX's around only LX's

LX's don't come with VTECH and rear disc brake right?

Thanks!

EX's were the only ones with the vtec engine, that's right, they also came with rear disc brakes, and sunroof from the factory (not to mention ABS).
The automatic transmission for the V6 model of the 6th generation has had a big number of failures. I believe the I4 version of the 6th gen is as strong or stronger than the 5th generation (version of accord that you just totalled).

There are still a number of 4-cyl autos that had tranny problems, although no where near the number of V6 auto failures. I wouldn't be too worried about them, but I wouldn't dismiss the possibility either.

98-02 LX models have the same powertrain as the EX models, which for you would be the F23A4, ULEV VTEC motor. 148hp, 150tq.

Rear disc brakes were only standard on EX models. There were a small number of LX's sold with rear disc brakes though. Honda had package deals from time to time, which added rear discs and 4 wheel ABS, along with keyless entry (normally optional on LX), and 1 or 2 other things.

Starting with 6th gens (98-02), both LX and EX used the VTEC engine.

if you stick to the manual trans in the 98-02 accord you will be fine. that trans is just as good as the 5th gen

I second that. 6th gen V6's had a number of issues. I'd stick to the 4cyl
