Default Cut or space hood?

Well we got my ITR swap in tonight, trying to decide if I should cut the hood to make it clear or if I should do the new cool Jay-deee-mmm thang and get some spacers to rake the hood up?

Anyone know how tall of spacer you need to clear with hasport efb2 mounts?

hmmm. i'm not really sure to tell ya the truth. i know my b18b1 clears just fine anyway. i think it depends on the mounts. some place the engine higher or lower then others.

Just cut the webbing from the underside of the hood to clear the valve cover.

I just put an ITR swap in my 1990 hatch and I placed spacers beween the mounts and the engine so it actually brought the engine/trans down about 1/2" inch which clears now. I thought this was a better route than cutting the hood which I thought would look ugly and I didn't want to space the hood up because I think it looks like you have bent hood hinges. My hood closes no big deal and I didn't have to sacrifice anything except some ground clearance which isn't that terrible as I have Tein SS coilovers on it and the car isn't extremely slammed.

i cut my webbing , but later still rubbed my valve cover. sux but mine was brand new. also as far as how much to space it. what i did was get the metal insert on a stock airbox bushings (4) to be exact. then longer bolts. good luck.BTW the other guy made a good point to with lowering the engine a bit.

b18 vtec motors are just a little bit taller than b18/20 non vtec motors. my b18a and b18b cleared my usdm hood with no problems in my crx however the lsvtec and gsr both hit the hood. i could still close the hood but the valve cover rubbed the webbing and got all scratched up.
