Won't start
hey my friend has a 91 integra rs and replaced his cap and rotor. we did everything pretty easily except after we finished installing, car will NOT start. we mixed up the spark plug wires cuz we didnt write it down but found a diagram online, if any1 has an extra one so i can verify let me know. does any1 have any suggestions as to why it wont start? thanks
Starting from the drivers side, the cylinders are 1,2,3,4
The firing order is 1,3,4,2.
On the cap when you're looking straight at it, the bottom left one is #1. Top left is 3. Top right is 4. Bottom right is 2.

if his car started before and ran fine then it shouldnt be a compression issue. Was your car working fine before you switched the cap and rotor
Did u make sure the little metal pin on the cap was there?it falls out easily.
Because if it wasn't you could have fried the module.
Its a little metal piece that connects the cap and dizzy

car ran fine before we did cap and rotor, the only problem was that it sputtered when gassing on the pedal. so we decided to replace cap and rotor, after doing so, car stopped starting.we checked the spark plugs to see if there is a spark using a screwdriver and there is NO spark. as far as that metal pin, yes we had the metal pin in the new cap
well there is is a prob between the rotor and cap. maybe you got a bad part???
put the old cap back on and see what happens. if it dosent work you prob fried the module.
so do that and see what happens.

yea we put the old part back on and car still doesnt spark up. is it possible to fry the module when the car doesnt start?
If you have a multi-meter this will help you narrow it down.

ok i'm having the same problem and i have an automatic 97 integra as my daily driver. i was driving and it randomly shut off. now the car won't turn over either. i thought my dizzy was shot so i changed it to a new dizzy and same thing is going on. the car still is not starting however it is cranking.
here's what i did.
- checked for spark
spark plugs are still in good shape and sparking, firing order is correct.
- checked for fuel
i hear the fuel pump, injectors pumping fuel to the motor and hear the click so the main relay isnt bad.
- timing isn't off
- checked all my fuses and they're all good.
can it be my ecu? which caused my car to shut off randomly while i was driving? should i change my starter to see if that would make the car start even though it is cranking?

i'll give that a shot and hope that is the problem. i didnt even beat on the car and took real good care of it for an automatic and this crap ends up happening. what would cause the valves to be off?
Check all the screws for tightness on the coil and ICM and the external wired connects. Check with a wrench/socket your battery grounds, starter grounds and the three main grounds i.e. transmission, thermostat and valve cover. Also try to start it using a remote handheld starting tool connected to the starter.
