i have a 91 si with the stock motor and i was wondering if i could use a different wiring harness cause i can't find the 91 si one

no, choy was referring to the 90-91 civic 4 door ex harness. it is the same as the Si but the 90-91 EX is kind of a rare find. but if you do find one the engine harness is the same.

 

88 Si engine harness is different from 89-91 - 88 didn't have a Fast Idle Control Valve and as a result, it has no connector for the FICV and the firewall connector at the driver's side on the 88 is a rectangular 6-wire connector instead of the round 8-wire connector on the 89-91 - this is the 88 Si driver's side connector:
