Default Recommended brand for dizzy cap n rotor?

In the past I've just used whatever brand "x" cap and rotor from autozone. But lately I've been only using Honda or other reputable manufacturers when buying parts for my car. What brands do you guys recommend for distributor caps and/or rotors? I use NGK for plugs and wires.

Also, I know someone will reply Honda, which I might go with. But it's always more convenient to buy locally, that's why I'm asking.

I usually get the oem stuff on eBay as a package (cap, rotor, plugs, wires, pcv, etc). It's cheaper and if u can wait a few days it usually comes quick.

I stay OEM for ignition components.

Curious, why have you now started using OEM parts if you were using brand 'x' which was working fine? I mean, 3rd party variants from Autozone and the like should be cheaper than OEM...plus they're local. So what's prompted the switch?

A new car and build prompted the switch. My old car I just used to simply maintain. My current car I've built from the ground up and want to do it right the first time. The last time I did a cap n rotor was on my old accord like seven plus years ago, and whatever I got from autozone "seemed" fine. On my old d-series in the civic I had autozone, or maybe it was advance auto, plug wires in my car, and the damn things came apart when I pulled them out. Because of things like that and other horror stories, I've learned to question to the quality of some of those parts. Just trying to save myself time, stress, and money by not buying ****. So any other recommendations?

Cap and rotor? I buy them cheap at Schucks or Napa. Hasn't failed me yet

There was a post that I read quite some time ago about how a autozone rotor was causing interference with some sort of electronic component while some chap was tuning his car. In my experience, if you are replacing the coil or ignitor, only go Honda OEM. I went through 2 of each from different auto stores before I spent what I had already spent on 2 cheap coil's and ignitors and after I threw in the OEM ones from Honda... Everything was great. Car ran great. If you are going to be running high RPM or boosted, stick with Honda internals and from my experience, cap and rotor as well. While it may not be cheap, it is my experience with this hobby that you get what you pay for. I have never once been dis-satisfied paying for a quality expensive part backed with a warranty.

Good luck.

I replaced mine awhile back (9 months or so), I went OEM. Cost was gonna be $600 for everything, only cost me $150 though, thanks to connections in my small town

I went ahead and got Echlin cap n rotor. The cap has brass connectors, which I guess don't corrode like aluminum, and came with a gasket. The rotor has some kind of fiber-like material on the top and bottom of the metal "blade thing" which is probably for a more directed spark or emission suppression. And I picked up NGK wires and plugs. All is good so far.
