DIY amber clock for 92-95 Civics
From the maker of DIY amber clock for 94-01 Integras comes the brand new DIY amber clock for 92-95 Civics.
Old idea, new application. Finally got my hands on a clock for a civic so i can finally sell, uhmm i mean do a write up.
Required Tools and Material:
Philips screwdriver
3m red/orange translucent film- if you can't find it, check sig below
1.Remove hazard button from car. Best method I found was using a knife and CAREFULLY pry out.
2.Disconnect the connector.
3.Remove screw
4.Remove two screws to remove the gauge cluster surround/vents.
5.Disconnect clock

6.To disassemble clock, release the 4 prongs. There are 2 on each side. Note, you do not need to remove clock from gauge surround/ vents, but if you want to, go ahead.
Be careful not to lose any pieces because that would suck.
7.Clean glass of any dust and apply translucent film to the actual glass on the clock.
8.Reassemble and install into car. Remember to reset the time.
and here it is.

I would assume to apply the same technique you used on the DC to the EG for the climate control. Only problem is that the EG climate control is a total pain to get to. I have a bulb out and have been dreading the day i have a free weekend to take it apart again.
Yup, you are correct. I'll be using the same technique on the eg as i did on the dc (or at least i'll be trying to). I looked at taking out the climate control already, and was dumbfounded at how to take it out. You got any tips, or links on how to take it out?
nevermind, i did a search and found it.

Let me tell you this, it was the biggest pita to take that climate control out.
When I was doing my climate, I was only able to pull it out so far. Like about 2 inches. I had to pull the lower console, deck and jimmy-rigg like all these extensions to get a long enough screwdriver to unscrew the climate control.
I couldn't figure out how to take the slider switches off which made it even harder to pull the face off of the climate control to reach the bulbs. All in all, it was a pain in the ****.

anyone know what size bulbs the civic gauge cluster bulbs are? I want to get amber colored ones instead.
Should be 194 bulbs

I took out my red film on my EF clock all together. Its 10 times brighter, and its a better looking Aqua Green. Amber never really appealed to me. I like the all red dashes found in Bimmers.
