Q for you guys (re: building tech resources, please read)
I was talking via PM w/K5, who has been really helpful in contributing solid info in my effort to build informative "OFFICIAL _____" threads.
I told him what my basic goal was so I figured you guys should all have your opinions heard on how to build it.
I am thinking of a group of threads devoted to specific parts, with all relevant info in the first post (what to buy, where to buy it, pros/cons, how much to pay) which will be constantly updated.
What do you guys think the most efficient grouping and format would be? My idea is:
1 intake thread
1 exhaust thread
1 header thread
1 suspension thread
1 brake thread
1 wheel thread
1 tire thread
I think there's room for even more, like an A/V thread, an exterior thread, perhaps even a dedicated thread for OEM and HFP stuff.
Or we could have fewer threads, by combining wheel/tire and header/exhaust.
We could make them open to growing, like the Flashpro thread, or keep them locked or otherwise restricted and just have mods update them.
The reason I want to do all this is because as the car gets more affordable, we could see an increase in traffic, especially first-time owners/questions, like what happened to the ITR forum. I want this forum to be for the Si what our ITR forum is for that car...the most technical, most edgy and most active place to discuss it.
So fire away on what you think is the best way to set it up.

I think the direction you're aiming is great. To be honest with you, I only come on
H-T to bullshit and check out pics. Most of the time, if I need specific info, I go on 8th. I wouldn't mind changing that because I can't stand most of the ppl on there anyway. I think a DIY section would be good too.

^just do the same thing they did in the 2001-2005 civic section with the build threads to cut down the clutter and u can just have one sticky at the top of the thread.
^Yes. I'd feel like tacking them up top would make searching a whole lot easier for anyone looking for specific information regarding certain parts.
For similar parts, such as header/exhaust and wheel/tire combo threads would be appropriate since they are closely related.

Although I am sure that my opinion isn't going to be as strong as some of the older members here, but I figured I would chime in. Many times, I just stop checking any of the threads here in the 8th gen civic section because I feel like a large majority of them are owners asking how much it would cost to swap their R18s out for a K20s. I come from a prelude back ground and even then the swap question got old pretty quickly. Nonetheless these are legitimate questions and without any knowledgeable owners to guide the newer members, I just see this as a lost cause. Now I troll the ITR forum here and there and they have a very tight knit community. If you are saying or trying to get this sub section to be as friendly, nice and knowledgeable as the ITR section, I feel as if there will need to be a divide between the Si owners and Ex/Lx/etc owners. To me I don't think that the ITR community would be as strong as it is today if all the other integra trims were incorporated with the ITR owners. I am sure the ITR owners wouldn't want their sub forum spammed by the RS/LS/GS/GSR owners asking them how much it would cost to swap out their B18xx for a B18C or a B18C5. If I weren't an owner of a Si, to be honest, I would feel a little awkward being in a forum filled with Si owners because some of the prestige and other smaller differences between the cars. I would want to be grouped with other owners who have more similar experiences in terms of my vehicle. Being answered with "sell your ex and get an Si to save money" isn't something all owners of that demographic want to hear from Si owners who don't suffer from the same handicap. Now I am not saying that splitting the Si owners up from the rest is the ONLY solution, but maybe somehow making this forum accommodate the non Si owners's and Si owner's needs differently would take this one step closer to what the ITR community is. (or maybe im talking out of my *** because im bored at home)
Sorry for the paragraph =X

The argument against splitting making a separate Si forum is that the normal Civic forum would be pretty much dead. However, if the Si forum becomes a hotspot in the spirit of the ITR forum, then I think it could be worth the trade.
What do you guys think of this guy's idea?
All the regular contributors in here are Si guys. And the non-Si contributors seem to be mostly the Appearance/Cosmetic type that make their home on other boards and just periodically pop in to post pics of their cars.
Granted, the Si isn't as different from a normal Civic as the ITR was to an Integra LS, but I think over time the Si will attract an ITR-like buyer. Trackday posts may become more prevalent as the car gets cheaper and the creep of Type-R parts sets in.
