My can run rich.
I would like to know if a bad thermostat could make my car run too rich ?
My oil is all black and my muffler is all carbonized.
When the car runs for about 30min it smells like gas and my temp gage is not even at half. My air is never super hot, it gets hot but not as much as other vehicules.
Specs : JDM D15b 95 into 98 hatchback civic.
I would like to know what thermostat to order. I don't know from which american civic I can get the same one.
Thanks alot !

CHANGE THAT THERMOSTAT!! The cold start valve measure the temprature of the coolant and when it is hot it will reduce the air going into the engine thus reducing the fuel also. My girlfriends car had the same problem, solved immediatley.
its probably like twenty bucks at a honda dealer, Do not, i repeat and stress do not buy an aftermarket or autozone, napa, pepboys thermostat because it wont work! the original costs like twenty bucks its worth it.
Oh really? That's odd. I have been using the same Advance Auto T-Stat for almost 2 years now. Am using them in several other cars also currently. Quit spreading false info. You might have had one that didn't work properly, doesn't mean all of them are bad. You could buy one from Honda that just for some reason didn't work also. **** happens.

If and when my current "advance auto" T-Stat goes bad I will go spend $8 bucks on another one that will 99.9% of the time work perfectly. If it just so happens not to work correctly I will use my free 1 year warranty and get a new one free.

You have that backwards, if your engine is not getting to operating temp then your T-Stat is not closing and is stuck open. If its not opening you would end up having an overheating issue on your hands, not the cold engine problem your describing.

I know that it doesn't make sens but it's the only thing I can see for now. I'll try searching for some problem... Maybe my IAT is screwed.
You still say your temp isn't getting to operating temperature. Your IAT will have no part to play in keeping the engine from getting hot or staying cold. I still think you have a faulty T-Stat that is stuck open never allowing the engine coolant to get to the optimal temp. range. Change the T-Stat or else your probably just gonna be chasing your tail and not getting anywhere. The T-stat is the likely culprit, if it turns out not to be, then it would be time to start digging deeper..but not until you replace the T-Stat.
