dropping B18c into eg
i finished with all my wiring and stuff today and will be dropping the motor in tomorrow. i have been eyeballing the fittment and it looks like it willl be DAMN tight. any tips or methods that would help me?
It's a b-series it will fit fine. Only thing that "looks like a tight fit" may be the tranny. But when you get everything on the hoist and have the ability to angle the motor and tranny you will see it fits fine.
Definately set the lift up so the tranny side of the engine hangs lower. That way you can drop the tranny mount below the subframe, then lift it back up into place.
Bolt the tranny mount first, then lower the lift until the upper driver side mount is in place. Bolt that in. Then the engine will be fully supported and you can do the other 3 at your whim.

got that sucka in! i found that with the engine level, removing the upper passenger mount made slipping the rear on real easy, then just put them back on and it bolted up easy!
total cost of the swap i bought was 3950 shipped from IAS. its an OBD1 JDM b18c1 w/ 66000 kilometers. compression was 260 260 240 250. still havn't started it up yet though. total cost of my whole project is embarasingly high.
