greasy alternator

Default greasy alternator

i have a greasy alternator and im wondering is there anyway to clean it..... is there a spray or something to remove all dat grease of it

any degreaser should work. I find simple green max to work wonders. any local auto part store should carry it. There is a way to take the alternator apart and clean it. I wouldn't spray that stuff inside, Im sure it's not good for it.

Simple Green is awesome. It works, it's environmentally friendly, it's not caustic or anything. You could probably spray it on and not have any issues. Just make sure you rinse it all off well and make sure the alternator is dry before reinstalling it or running the motor if you leave it on.
