delsol shake prob.
ok 1st delsol ive ever had just recently bought it. and when i hit 57 to 70 mph it shakes real bad. then, i take to top off and no matter what speed i am traveling at it shakes like a hostage :/ any ideas? anyone? btw axles, uca's, balljoints and t-rod ends are brand new. and even shakes not in gear !
well thats the reason i replaced everything cause it shook from the start . tried 3 diff sets of wheels from stock to rotas lol same ****. really annoying
check motor mounts, my car started shaking 3 weeks ago, I did a compression test to find out that there was about 40 psi in my third cylinder, so now I have to take off the head. Hopefully that wont be the case for your car, GL, its v
you sure the roads your on aren't bad? the slightest bump in the road I feel in the del sol, but if you drive on brand new pavement, it doesn't shake at all. I think its just the way the del sol was made. It has a better turning radius then all the other fwd honda's and a stiffer suspension (specially since I got KYB GR2's and slip on coil over skirts) and I feel the tiniest bumps in the road.
also check the balancing of the rims.
when you had your car aligned, did the mechanic adjust the car while it was in the air, or still on the lift (they lift it up to scan it, then they lift it again even higher. this is an incorrect method. many people lift it twice because they think that's how you align a car, but its not. the spot where the wheels sit, slides when you take out the pins, making it able to be adjusted. most raise it up instead of doing it while its down. I hope you understand what I'm talking about)

ok 1st of all. balance wheels ? i have put 3 diff sets of wheels on it. one of which has brand new tires and balanced. its when the roof is off it feels not to solid and shakes. 2nd i have solid motor mounts (new). it almost feels like when the roof is off it needs a cage in it to support where the roof gap is . i think the shake at 57 to 70 mph when roof is on is the tranny tho its only when i gear. really strange. any more ppl out there with suggestions to check? maybe stabilizer or sway bars?

Well as for the roof off thing it is really nothing you can "fix" thats just the way sol's are. Even with the roof on flex in the roof area is a problem. My roof creaks like crazy.
Try what Del Namco Solo said about driving on new roads. Most of the time my sol tracks and acts all kinds of twitchy, to the point where I start to question if something is broken, if I am not on nice new road or on the track.
And what kind of "shake" are you talking about here with solid motor mounts ??? I have 95A mounts and it "vibrates" the whole damn car. Steering wheel, gas pedal, doors, windows, you name it... until I get above 3K RPM.

shake as in un stability. i have had plenty of solid motor mounts incars and never felt this and it happened b4 i changed those as well. i guess its a sol thing and thats pretty gay cause it def does make me wuestion if something is broke. with top on rear view mirror dont move. off) its so bad i cant make out makes of vehicles
It does sound like you still have some other kind of issue. I would start checking for worn out bushings. When my rear trailing arm bushings were shot the *** end would do some funny things. Maybe check the mounts and bushings on the steering rack too. If the rack is moving around that would transfer all kinds of bad things to your wheels.
well i notice that my pass side knuckle that connects the balljoints together is closer to shock than that of the other side. wtf is that from?
I don't have any issue with shaking in my Del Sol roof on or off. Does it shake worse when you hit the brakes? When this happened in my Jeep I thought it was wheel bearings and it turned out that the rotors were warped and the cause the joints to wear out and I had to replace ball joints and tie rod ends..
