Default 95 dx swap

I am having issues figuring out compatability issues. I bought a 1995 civix dx from a friend. The stock engine died. I just want to get this car to work as a commuter car. So ANY working engine that I can buy for CHEAP and install without buying new mounts and preferabbly without having to redo the wiring. Anyway. I am trying to figure out if a d16y7 will fit in the car and wether or not i will have to buy a new wiring harness. I need to replace this engine with another one ASAP. I have a little over a week to do a complete engine swap. I would greatly appreciate your help. I am new to working on cars and am getting help from mechanic friends doing the hard stuff.

Default Re: 95 dx swap

if it's your first time doing this stick with simple, aim for another D15b7 (stock DX engine)
the D16y7 is the OBD2 equivilent, which should work fine with a mix/match of mounts, but the wiring isn't going to as easy as it could be, and the ECU is going to need chipping to run the newer engine correctly.
