Default steering problem?

well i just broke out my si today for the first time since the snow started to melt and i think i have a problem. when i go around a semi not smooth (ok bumpy) corner the car jumps around a lot more than it used to, almost skidded off of the road once, i dont know if my crappy shocks are finally shot or if my steering rack is worn out, seems to me the steering is really loose, how would i check that? can i just put bushings in or do i have to replace it? its got like 235000 miles on it.

jack your car up in the front and back and check inner and outer tierods, ball joints, bushings and you're alignment could possible be off because the car will pull to the side with the most positive camber. and yes you can just put bushing in, i recommend polyurithane because they last longer and help with torque steer aswell

alignment is key when replacing that stuff because you can't get it exactly right with out an alignment machine. and when you go to a shop and have them align it watch them and make sure they know you're watching! because most shops well pretty much all shops will get the alignment close to spec and then jounce the car a few times untill the machine is fooled into thinking it's right when it isn't. and if you don't already have one and your car is lowered you should prolly get a camber kit cuz like i said the car will pull to the side with the most positive camber
