Icon2 Custom Shift ****: Would You Buy It???

First off let me say that I'm a VW guy and brand new to the forums here.

So my buddy with a 01 integra was in need of a shift ****, and me being a mechanical engineering major with access to a machine shop got started on creating this beauty.

Sorry for the cell phone pic, the low quality takes away from the time I put into this piece.

It is 3.2 inches long, and nearly one inch in diameter. Chambered at 45* at the top and bottom and threaded with 10mm X 1mm Threads. Created out of a solid rod of mirror polished 304 stainless steel Also I measured it up so that this thing will be very close if not in contact with the stock shift boot, which is another great aesthetic quality of it's design. I personally like this style of shift **** because it warrants a different type of grip.

So the point of my post. What would you be willing to pay for a **** like this if I were able to make and sell them?

Thanks man!

Oh and I just measured it and it came out to be 3 1/4 inches

So how much would you pay for a piece like this? (considering that it took 3 hours to make the thing)

I'd pay about the going rate for *****. 30 - 40. Seems like a good quality ****.

Experiment with different color/materials. You might have something there bro.

No, but not because I don't like it.

I live in Fresno, and a metal **** equals a burned hand in the summer.

I live in sacramento, and I use the small rag trick. goes like this: put a small rag/wash cloth over your shifter when you leave the car for a while!

Also after talking to my professor, the 5 speed shift graph is plausible. we would just need to program the cnc to engrave it, other things like a honda/ acura emblem could be engraved too.

I have actually been thinking about doing something like this, but maybe even taller, I think for that kind of custom work 75 - 100 bucks would be fair. Do you have to make a batch or can you make them one at a time?

They can be done one at a time in about three hours of slaving at a lathe and polishing wheel

You want one?

Oh yeah man, you want to make something custom send me a drawing of it with all dimensions and notes and ill make it for ya

well i think it would be awkward to leave more metal on top and have it skinnier on bottom, so maybe a larger diameter in whole? it is 7/8 inch right now so maybe one inch or 1 1/4 inches?
