Default toda b spec cams

if i'm running only an AEM cold air on a b16 is it necessary to tune if I upgrade to these cams? and when upgrading cams what other modifications will also help maximize mid-range power?

If i remember right you also need full valvetrain.... but to answer your question just make your engine able to breathe... anything that will restrict flow.. weather it be an intake to exhaust.. and get a tune..

It's good to get a tune after any engine mod like that. (cams, pistons etc)

Not such a big deal with just an intake or exhaust.

ya i figured just making sure, someone has offered to trade me a set of these for my coilovers. If i go along with the trade i'll probably wait til i get my headers and test pipe to install the cams and then tune. thanks for clarifying

I have seen packages selling valvetrain and cams but was never sure if it was a must, so stock b16 valvetrain is completely out of the question correct?

for a B spec cam yea. you could get toda Cs and still run the b16 valvetrain but wont be as aggressive as the B spec will be.

and when he says "FULL valve train" that includes new valves, valvesprings, retainers, and camshafts? cuz depending on how much its going to be to get these into my car is going to help me decide whether i want the cash for my coils or the cams for speed

i would up grade the valve train but im not 100% sure if its requied, at least valve springs.

yes you will need a tune, but you should wait untill you get header, maybe intake manifold. what other things do you have? exhuast?

might be able to get some supertech dual valve springs and BC titanium retainers with the deal as well, trying to see if he wants cash on my end first. I'll be saving for a ws2 exhaust and still deciding on headers. I'd like to collect all the internals first and install all at once.

wish i could have done this to the LS motor I had but I couldn't pass up this hatch. this will be my first B of my own to drive, the LS never made it into a shell.
