I bought this 92 honda civic lx four door and the previous owner put a D16Z6 the car all of a sudden started sputtering mainly in low rpms (breaking up)
the car also has two map sensors one on the throttle body and the other on the firewall and only the one on the firewall is working.

 

Well there should only be one MAP sensor on the throttle body. Only early model OBD0 cars had firewall mounted MAP sensors. Is it throwing any codes?

 

its pretty frustrating because when the car is cold and you turn it on and it starts sputtering and 15 seconds later the check engine light turns on and the car no longer sputters it starts idleing like if the (iacv) was bad you know (up down up down). when the car warms up to running temp, you can turn it off then on and the check engine goes away, but then it sputters and breaks up again.

when the car is idleing (sputtering) i pulled the vaccum out from the map on the firewall and also turns the check engine on and starts idleing crapy.
but when i pull the plug out from the map in the throttle body it doesnt do anythig??????????

Well if the check engine light is turning on, that means it's throwing codes. You need to figure those out, then get back to me.

my cel is: 5 times fast

 

according to the cel list 5 times is the map sensor but it has already been replaced.

what bugs me is that the as soon as the car warms up you can turn it off and then turn it on and the cel goes away and check for codes i dont have none

Hmmm... sounds like it could be your seatbelt sensor. Check the voltage on that and get back to us.

check the wires for each of those map sensors for tears cuts or worn away spots. and then take and remove the firewall one.

if i remove the one from the firewall the car wont even turn on

 

how can i rewire the other map sensor
