My son dropped 2 valves in his Type-S so we are going to swap a K24A2 out of an 05 TSX.
I just wanted to see if anyone thinks I have left anything out for this swap.
Motor K24A2 = salvage yard
Kpro with Hondata's oem TSX reflash program installed = Hondata
Clutch = Exedy stage 1
adapter for t-body = OBX
Header = OBX
motor mount inserts = ES
New upper TSX rad hose
new lower RSX hose
CR-V front cover mount = Honda
Possible a cat-back if funds permit.
Is there anything else that would be suggested to get & install at the same time.
This is a DD & he just wants to car to be alittle stronger sense hes having to shell out the cash to replace the motor.
We will have the block for sale shortly if any one is interested. I don't know if the head is reuseable 2 of the valves are turned side ways & imbedded in the head.

Damn sucks about that head cuz he could have put that on top of that K24 and put some serious numbers down...

 

I'm gonna take pics of the head when I go back out there & see if anyone thinks that its fixable.

 

yeah that would make a great setup if saveable thinkin of doin the same with mine

 

header wont fit. It'll need to be modified. Also you don't need a TSX hose you reuse the RSX one. Or buy the gates hose off of CRSX designed for the Injen CAI.

Which Intake manifold is he planning on running and what intake?

I want to do the k20 head on my k24 block..(poor-man's TSX) the hybrid mod is very nice... and puts up great numbers.

We have a Kiddracing header on on the way. I read on CRSX that you can use a TSX upper hose & cut the RSX lower hose to fit. He has a Injen short ram on the car already. I am not gonna buy the hoses till the motor is sitting in the car.

 

!k-24 coupe! I don't know if the head is fixable or not.

I'm using my OEM RSX hoses upper and lower. What do I know though... never done the k24 swap lol. And I didn't cut any hoses. But I used the RSX thermostat housing

 

The only other tricky one I'll give you advice on is the Knock sensor... all of the threads I read said to reuse the K20 knock sensor on the k24... but I kept getting CEL for knock sensor malfunction.. so I soldered on the k24 knock sensor harness plug and used a k24 knock sensor and bam no more CEL.

 

Thanks for the info i'm gonna wait & look at it myself when the motor is in the car.

I think I read your post about keeping the stock K24 knock sensor & I am going to keep that in mind also.
I just wish the motor will get here so we can start.
