i need help... does anyone have any idea where i can get a used transmission that aint so expensive, i have a 2001 honda civic ex. 1.7 vtec motor. its automatic... my whole third gear in the car is gone, can someone help?

Might also want to try Google, craigslist, etc.

 

you could also check some local salvage yards

 

just pull it out of the car, have a good local shop crack it in half replace the clutches and whatever else is worn and clean the filter screen- as a clogged filter screen is what causes low pressure on the clutch packs- slap it back in and your good!

 

i would definately agree on the local salvage yards.. theyre cheap most of the time they have warranty on big things like engines and transmissions and u would have to be blind to not see if theres sumthing wrong with the tranny.
