So you have power from the transmission switch when the car is in reverse? You just need to follow the wiring until you lose power, find the break in the wiring and repair.

I'd check for power where the tail lights plug into the cars wire harness, sometimes corrosion build ups prevent the wiring from making good connections.

Good luck.

explain more info on this ground....
Is it just where the bulb pigtails are wired up or does the ground wire travel down the line and come out of the loom to connect somewhere else in the car ?
Thanks for the help guys !

Check the connection at the driver's side harness plug. If the harness has been changed, the reverse light wires don't line up to the other side of the connector on different year models. If this is the case, you just need to repin the harness with the wires lined.
I had this issue when I bought a DPFI-MPFI harness and lost my reverse lights that had worked before the swap. I repinned and they worked again. I have since gone back to my original harness that Rywire converted to OBD-1 for my D15B VTEC swap so I had to repin the wires back to the original configuration.
This may help you or not, but it may help someone. Good luck
