Looks pretty good. Now stick it on a flow bench and see how she does

My only suggestion to everyone getting their heads ported...leave the guides full length. You can shape them, or leave them alone, but cutting them out like that does not increase flow. For all motor cars it isn't that big of a big deal to cut them on the exhaust side...there might be a couple cfm there, but on the intake side there is nothing.

Most of these old heads have loose guides and need new ones anyway, and then cutting them down just makes it worse. You need the full length guide for valve stability, and that valve stability is worth power and valve life.

All these old heads should get new guides. It is an affordable and easy install for a shop that is setup to do it. Plus it looks cool :p

I have the template complete and ready to go. I am trying to decide whether to invest in the digitizing and CNC setup. The B-Series market is saturated and while I think there are certainly some guys that would want a Weld-Tech quality CNC cylinder head, I don't know if there are enough to justify the setup cost. It will be a $1350-1550 cylinder head depending on options with new bronze guides, valvejob, surface, same porting finish as our K stuff....etc.

If guys are willing to spend that, I would digitize it. If I can get 6 more guys to send heads and money, along with the few I have here in the shop it would be worthwhile. Otherwise, it could be 6 months before I'm ready to commit to that.
