Default Problem with tranny install help????

so im swapping in a 5spd tranny from a 88 civic d15 to my 91 d15 but im having trouble getting the main shaft to go into the splines on the motor....anybody have any tips on how to get it in there easy???

you mean the shaft on the tranny going into the clutch? the 88 has 21 splines and the 89-91 have 20 splines so you need to switch the clutch and flywheel. the 88 clutch won't work with 90-91 flywheel since the clutch disc diamater is different unless you buy the ACt clutch for an 88 tranny that is made to work with 91 flywheel.

hmm , from 88 to 91 huh...
Are you sure you got the right spline count on the clutch disk ?
The pressure plate has to match the motor , but the clutch disk has to match the tranny.

thanks man someone told me that any Dseries transmission will work i have a flywheel and clutch to a 88 so ill swap those over im pretty new to honda so excuse me but are the fly wheel bolts reusable cause i know on Vws there not???

A drop of lock tight will keep em from walking out on you down the road.

thanks again i have one more question i dont have a clutch alighment tool is there a way to do it without one?? like i said ima noob so spare me

you can buy a cheap clutch alignment kit from your local parts store. thats the only advice i can give you on that
