Problem with tranny install help????
so im swapping in a 5spd tranny from a 88 civic d15 to my 91 d15 but im having trouble getting the main shaft to go into the splines on the motor....anybody have any tips on how to get it in there easy???
you mean the shaft on the tranny going into the clutch? the 88 has 21 splines and the 89-91 have 20 splines so you need to switch the clutch and flywheel. the 88 clutch won't work with 90-91 flywheel since the clutch disc diamater is different unless you buy the ACt clutch for an 88 tranny that is made to work with 91 flywheel.

hmm , from 88 to 91 huh...
Are you sure you got the right spline count on the clutch disk ?
The pressure plate has to match the motor , but the clutch disk has to match the tranny.
Hope this helps !
