NY Testing Waters: Honda CRX Si
Testing waters on my 85 CRX. I bought this car in December 08 with the intentions of autocrossing it and tracking it for the next couple years after I got rid of my EG. This car is perfect for anyone looking for a car to get into racing with and is very reliable. This car has been my daily driver for over a year, but isn't practical for me anymore. With a b-series swap this car would be incredibly fast.
The car is a 1985 CRX SI with 261xxx on the odometer. Car was prepped by its two previous owners for the CSP autocross class as well as open track days. Car is painted a non OEM black with red moldings and a flat black hood, roof, front lip, and hatch lid. Car has zero body rust as it was a Florida car all its life up until I purchased it. Car has a straight body with no cracks in the plastics header panel or fenders, but does have two cracks on lower door plastic moldings (can easily be plastic welded).
Engine:
Fully built EW motor to CSP Specs (rebuilt at 219xxx)
New Honda pistons and rings .20 over (professionally balanced with rods)
Cylinder head and block machined and shaved .010 (slight bump in compression)
Head is ported and polished 1' into intake/exhaust ports
New Honda valves and Bronze guides (3 angle valve job on head)
Intake manifold/head/header all port matched
Intake manifold ported and polished all the way to Plenum
DC 4-2-1 header (very rare for this motor)
Integra oil pump
Delta Cams Stage 2 272 cam regrind
Mugen motor mounts
Unorthodox Pulleys
3 Inch ram air intake with BPI velocity stack and filter
Custom 2.25 inch exhaust from header back with Magnaflow muffler (small exhaust leak)
Transmission:
1985 CRX SI transmission (shortest gearing of 1st gen crx's)
Mugen LSD (clutch plates arranged to full race settings)
OEM clutch
Custom 6.5lb flywheel with replaceable friction surface
HD axles
Recently replaced wheel/hub bearings
Suspension:
Fully corner balanced
OPM torsion bars
OPM camber/caster plates
OPM coilovers with 450lb springs
OPM panhard abr
Mugen trailing arm bushings
Custom 3 way adjustable spherical bearing rear swap bar
Tokico Illumna 5 way adjustable shocks
CRX HF quick ration steering rack with Mugen hard rubber bushings
Brakes:
Duralast front rotors
Carbotech front pads
Rear CRX HF aluminum drums
Generic drum shoes
Stainless steel brake likes
ATE super blue fluid
Interior:
Kenwood CD/MP3 head unit
JBL speakers

Gutted from front seats back (have all interior pieces that will be included)

Was hoping for something in the mid 4k range because of all the work done to the car and the numerous rare parts on it. If parted the car could easily bring in $5k (keep in mind the LSD is worth nearly 1k on its own). Bump to the top, no interest in super clean old skool Honda?
