Hey im thinkin on buying either the rsx type s or the ep3. I really like both cars but i just wanted to hear some pros and cons for both cars from actual people that own one or just give your opinion. Sorry if theres another thread like this but i couldnt find one so i just wanted to post one.

Depends on the years but anyway i don't really have any complaints with my 04 Type S. Other than the stock suspension and the seats being kinda uncomfortable i don't really have any complaints...

 

its either a 2003 type s or a 2003 ep3. or 04 between them two years. Wat? i heard the seats are "*** heaven" lol my friend owns a ep3 with type s seats and thats exactly what he said

 

If it's a type S then go with the RSX

 

Me personally im not a fan of the seats i think the 05-06 are better. Other than that no complaints plus K20A2>K20A3 easy...

 

if power is an issue, get the type-s.

 

i wanted an EP before I got my type S. I Love my type S to death. I still want a EP though. I love the way that chassis handles, and just looks.

there is a definite difference in power though.

 

i want it for comfort now i had a 98 ek that had speed but no suspension. but im really debating i really want the ep3 for its looks but i also like to speed and race and stuff like that.

 

i got an 04 ep3 with k20a2 swap.. the car drive totally different. if u want ep3.. make sure u get 04up.. since they change from 4 lug to 5 lug, plus fix the 3rd gear pop out issues

 

Ok so no 03 ep lol. So now its 04 ep vs 03 dc5 or 04. Cmon please more opinions or facts or self experiences.

 

i have an 03 ep and dont have issues i love having like one of three eps ive seen on the road since i had it. i see it as being unique

 

looks like you should stay in the civic family and ya it would be a good idea to look for an 04 and up for the 5 lug! Eps are somewhat "roomy" good head room in the back un less your like 6'5 or something..lol! But yes once again if power is wat you want then do type-s....LSD,6speed, and those clean 17's cant argue with dat!
But yet again u kuld always swap the A2 in the ep? i guess its just up to wat chassis u Prefer.

 

TO BE HONEST.. Sometimes I wish I got a DC5 instead. I had the choice also but I stuck with the EP because I felt that it was a less whored car. There's a lot of things about my car that I don't like but in the end I still love it but sometimes there's that "what if" thought.

One for Chitown!!! I got 04 ep3 and k20z3 swap w/ 6sp LSD tranny recently and I f*ckin' love it!!! I think it's your taste/choice ultimately.
1. Do you like hatch of EP or DC5?
2. Price difference of two, prolly can find cheaper 04 ep3 vs. 04 dc5, which leaves you some cash for possible swap to a(type r), a2(type s), or z3(8th gen Si).
3. Like mentioned above, whored??? I def. don't see a whole lot of ep's around here and especially graciously modded ones, lol, 'graciously', that's a hafty fancy word of me.

If you're interested, I've got some info. on budgeting for swap into something faster than a3 motor. LMK chitowner!!!

I like the ep dont get me wrong its a bad *** hatch no matter wat ppl say of the size.

The dc5 i like it because of the lsd tranny 6speed, and the 40 extra horses.

I would love to do a swap to have the same setup as the dc5 but money is tight with paying for college this year plus the car plus insurance plus maintainance plus personal stuff plus my babies (ep or dc5) personal stuff lol plus.......well u guys get it. Unless u wonna make donations since we are from chitown....... No? Yea....... didnt think so,, worth a try lol.

 

I have a 02 EP3 and its great had no problems and yes the seats are very comfortable.
