i've been looking online to purchase a b18c and i've come across this website J-Spec auto sports anyone ever buy from here?
are there alot of scams when it comes to buying motors online. this is my first time

 

I have bought 2 motors in the past from hmotorsonline.com. Steve is a great guy to work with and both engines ( 2 B16's, one long block and one complete swap) and they arrived super clean. That is the only place I would ever consider to purchase a swap. Hope that helps man.

 

hmotorsonline always has a good rep on here, if I were to buy one I'd get it from there.

at least see if you can get compression/leakdown test results before you buy

 

If you are pateint and can wait, maybe try and find a deal locally. Last summer, i did just that. I found a jdm spec B18C with cable S1 tranny, obdI P72 ecu, full wire harness and OBD harness jumper, and a stainless jasma certified header for $1000

 

make sure its usdm so you can get it BAR'D

theres just so many sites out there now thats selling motors, Like i said this would be my first time buying a motor online. Everwhere else wants 3k for a b18c ive found them online for as little as 1499 so idk

Search locally first. For the amount your gong to pay in shippping you can find a better deal. My buddy is selling his 99 b18c1 usdm with vin tag still on it for 900. I would play the waiting game first.
