alright so my b18b1 LS i just got is smoking at start up and till it heats up then its not that bad at all. but its real bad at start up. i've heard blue smoke is over fueling but it smells like oil a lil.. can anyone help

 

blue is oil, if it only does it real bad at start up i would say the valve seals are to blame

 

man blue smoke is oil. could be bad piston rings, black is normal for vtec cars. check if its blue or black. black is the fuel running rich which is normal cause of the high compression and vtec kicking in, it burns oil during vtec

 

If it was bad rings, it would smoke all the time rather than just on startup.

How man miles do you have it?

 

i have no clue on the miles cause its a theft so its a different motor and guage cluster... thanks everyone for the help... i'll just put my spare jdm b18b head on it cause its just a daily.

 

When i bought my teggy i changed spark plugs and i noticed the number 4 sprak plug had a little bit of oil on the spark plug. Just like you mentioned and everybody else says, i had worn out piston rings on that piston. Teggy has about 190,000 miles, and it smokes blueish white in the morning at first start up. Give it about 2-5minutes to warm up, and it goes away.

 

yeah that is exactly what mine does.. and my #1 and 2 spark plugs were like that but i thought it was valve cover gasket letting oil down.
